The Authentication in Art (AiA) foundation is an independent non-profit organisation established in early 2012. The foundation complies to national non-profit regulations and is based in The Hague, International City of Peace and Justice (the Netherlands)
The AiA Foundation facilitates and controls the AiA Congress organisation that, in close collaboration with AiA workgroups, ensures a high quality congress programme development and delivery process.

Authentication in Art (AiA) comprises a group of prominent art world professionals who joined together to create a platform that can act to catalyse and promote best practices in art authentication. In 2011 the 20-year-old forgery lawsuit concerning the Dutch group ‘Groninger Ploeg Painters’ was solved by an investigation performed by ARRS.
The applied protocol on the basis of objective technical investigation, provided by ARRS, formed the fundament for this unique jurisprudence, a turning point in the world of art history

The Leickert forgery case. Lawsuit against the Dutch Art Dealer Pieter Overduin. The art dealer was accused of selling a forgery. ARRS supported the lawyers of Pieter Overduin by refuting the pressed charges. The painting was accepted as a genuine Charles Leickert (1816-1907)
